About

Shakey was born in wexford in 1986. He grew up in Wexford town where he attended the Wexford CBS and finished his leaving cert in 2004. He then attended Carlow IT for 3 years studying PR and communications. His interest in Rap music started when he was 13 years old, listening to Rap legends such as Notorious BIG, Wu Tang, Nas, Jay-z and Rakim to name a few. His first experience live on stage was with a fellow wexford MC Rob Kelly, at a teenage disco Rob was performing at. Shakey started off as a beat boxer, then when he was 15 he started writing raps. His first real performance was when he was about 17, performing at teenage discos in Wexford. When he went to college in Carlow he got his first regular spot as the resident MC of the music factory, Now called Club Tao. This is where he met Ray Colclough AKA Coco. The two sparked a good working relationship and have done many gigs since then. Shakey performed in Carlow for a further 3 years, then in February 2007 Shakey received his first pieces of recording equipment from his parents as a Christmas gift.A few days later he had his first song on bebo called Oh Baby and has been recording ever since. The song got alot of internet attention and Shakey continued to churn out song after song, Shakey released his first mixtape in October, and got great response. He is currently working on the next album and working with alot of American producers. Shakey is constantly writng new material and has an unheard collection of around 30 tracks that the public will hear over time. Shakey performed in 2007 on TG4s Glas Vegas tv show. And since his first single Irish Party was played on southeasts Beat 102-103 fm his music career has taken a huge turn for the better. This song has proven to be as popular as the major artists out today. Shakeys influences are Eminem, Nas, Jay-Z, DMX, Ludacris and T.I to name but a few.
